Crock Pot slow cookers
Crock
Pot slow cookers were developed by the Rival Company in the 1970’s
and marketed under the product name of Crock Pot. One of the reasons
for the success of Crock Pot slow cookers is that the Crock Pot was
developed when many women returned to work. Rival’s actual slogan
was, “Cooks all day while the cook’s away.” Many cooks
today still refer to slow cookers in general by the Crock Pot brand
name. Several key things to consider when shopping for Crock Pot slow
cookers are:
• Features – choose features that are important to you.
If having a programmable Crock Pot slow cooker is not a necessity for
your lifestyle, opt for a less expensive slow cooker with two or more
heat options that you manually switch. Paying for bells and whistles
that you won’t use is not a good idea.
• Size – consider the size of the group you are serving.
If you have a large family, a large Crock Pot slow cooker will be necessary,
however, if you are single or a couple, you will need less capacity
in your slow cooker.
• Follow the manufactures directions for using your Crock Pot
slow cooker. The interior crockery in some slow cookers are safe in
the dishwasher, oven and freezer while others are not. Be sure to become
familiar with your particular Crock Pot slow cooker.
As families have become busier, more and more people have turned to
Crock Pot slow cookers to help put satisfying, flavorful meals on the
table. A slow cooker can do the cook for you while you work. The small
amount of time required for prep is well worth the assurance of a hearty
meal made with Crock Pot slow cookers.
